The DERMATOLOGIKUM HAMBURG FOUNDATION was founded in December 2001. The goal of the foundation is to award scholarships to young doctors from medically underresourced countries to improve the level of training and therefore the medical treatment options in these countries. The scholarships extend to three months and are preferably issued as post-doc scholarships to young foreign doctors who already are or will be practicing dermatology in their native countries. The foundation further supports scientists in dermatology whose research results will improve the prevention or more efficient diagnostics and/or treatment of skin disorders.
